Deans

William Deans was one of Christchurch's earliest settlers. He established a showplace farm in Riccarton now known as Dean's Bush. When two more Houses were introduced to the school in 2003, it was decided to transfer the origin of 'Deans' House to Jane Deans. This was to put more emphasis on the role of women in early  Christchurch.
