🌲 Wāhine in Forestry Mentorship Programme

Help inspire the next generation of women in forestry!

The newly launched Wāhine in Forestry Mentorship Programme is seeking industry professionals to mentor forestry students from the School of Forestry. The programme aims to create meaningful connections that support students as they explore career pathways and gain real-world industry insights.

What does being a mentor involve?

  • One conversation per month

  • Around six months in total

  • Meetings can be online or in person

  • An opportunity to share experiences, answer questions, and support emerging professionals

  • No formal coaching experience required

Why get involved?

Mentors play an important role in helping students understand the forestry sector, explore career opportunities, and build confidence as they prepare to enter the workforce. It is also a valuable opportunity to give back to the industry and support future leaders in forestry.

How to participate

Professionals can register as mentors, and forestry students can apply to be mentees through a short online registration process. Participants will be matched based on their interests, experience, and goals before being introduced via email.

This is a fantastic opportunity for anyone passionate about supporting and encouraging women entering the forestry industry. 🌿
