The CGHS RU18 Coxed 8s crew wins the New Zealand School Championship Levin Jubilee Cup, or Maadi Cup, for the first time.

At the Paris Olympic Games, alumna Jorja Miller wins gold with the Black Ferns Rugby 7s team.

At the same Olympics, alumna Lucy Spoors and Brooke Francis win gold in the Women’s Double Sculls, while alumnae Phoebe Spoors and Davina Waddy win bronze in the Women’s Four alongside Kerri Williams and Jackie Gowler.

The CGHS Red Equestrian team wins the Canterbury Secondary Schools ODE at McLeans Island, making CGHS one of the few schools to win the competition in consecutive years since it began in 1985.
