CGHS – Powered by CareerWise
CareerWise and TEC are working together!
The NZ Tertiary Education Commission’s (TEC) innovative new careers planning website, Tahatū Career Navigator, is now part of the CareerWise offering.
We’re shaping the future of careers guidance for Kiwi students throughout Aotearoa!
We’re thrilled to announce that
As you may have heard, Tahatū is set to replace careers.govt.nz towards the end of 2025. But it’s much more than a replacement – it’s a next-generation, learner-centred site designed to inspire and guide rangatahi towards meaningful futures.
Tahatū offers a dynamic and personalised experience for students. It helps them:
-
identify their interests, values and strengths
-
connect subject choices with future study, training and career opportunities
-
access New Zealand labour market information and practical planning tools
-
explore options in a way that aligns with the school curriculum and national career education frameworks.
Tahatū is interactive, engaging and built to meet students where they are.
What this means for CareerWise schools
We’re excited to embed Tahatū within CareerWise’s growing network of 159 secondary schools, currently reaching over just under 175,000 students – that’s more than half of all secondary schools nationwide.
Schools in the CareerWise network can offer their students direct access to Tahatū and use it to:
-
link interactive career exploration tools with a uniquely New Zealand database of local work and career opportunities
-
map a career pathway with the right study and training choices to get there
-
equip students with future-focused tools through channels that schools, students and families already use and trust.
Tackling the big challenges – together
We know many students still struggle to connect their education with life after school. Together, CareerWise and TEC are tackling this head on by embedding Tahatū where it will make the biggest impact – in schools, guided by you, our trusted career professionals.
We’re building pathways to brighter futures for our young New Zealanders – together.
