Gammack Trust Scholarship
For Canterbury students intending to study at Canterbury or Lincoln universities who have personal challenging circumstances
Each year the James Gammack Trust awards five scholarships to students who intend to study at Lincoln University or the University of Canterbury. Each scholarship is worth $21,000 ($7,000 for each of the first three years the student is at university).
The attached document provides information on the criteria, application and selection processes. There is also a blurb written by a past recipient.
Applicants need to have shown they have the academic ability to succeed at tertiary study. For example, have achieved NCEA Level 2 and have continued academic success in the year of application.
Preference will be given to applicants who have personal challenging circumstances (see attached criteria). This is a key aspect of these scholarships. The application and reference forms ask for information about these. Any information provided is confidential to the three members of the selection panel.
Based on the applications and references, the selection panel will interview about 10 applicants to help decide who to award the scholarships to.
The attached document is for students and includes a link they can use to get details of how to apply. There is no limit to the number of students who can apply from a school.
Applications close on August 28.
