RE: Hurunui Garden Festival Scholarship 2026 – Now Open for Applications
I am writing on behalf of the Hurunui Garden Festival to let you know that applications for our 2026 Education Scholarship are now officially open.
Subject to annual festival outcomes, a scholarship of up to $2,000 will be offered to a Hurunui District student transitioning into tertiary study. The final award amount and distribution—whether granted to a single recipient or split among multiple candidates—will be determined each year. Below is a brief summary of the key criteria:
Eligibility: Any student in their final years of schooling (Years 11–13) whose family home is located within the Hurunui District boundary (even if they currently attend school outside the district).
Fields of Study: Tertiary study (university or institute of technology) in Horticulture, Agriculture, Landscape Design, or a closely related field, though preference will be given to those mentioned.
Funding: is to assist with tuition fees, course-related costs, textbooks, or living expenses (receipts or proof of expenses will be requested).
Key Dates: Applications close on 31 October 2026, payment made early 2027.
