Meet Coach Marina

Marina is a certified professional coach with 30 years experience in facilitation and people development. Marina is the Director of Thrive for Life and is passionate about students building their self confidence and learning how to thrive throughout all the ares of their life. As the mother of 3 children (26, and twin 18 year olds) Marina knows about all the challenges that face young people.

Marina spent 5 years as a facilitator at MHERC (Mental Health Education and Resource Centre) facilitating THRIVE and REVIVE and conflict resolution skills for the corporate world. She worked for the NZ Institute of Management for 15 years and is currently a Blanchard Leadership coach in the corporate world. Marina is passionate about wellbeing and believes that every student needs the tools in their toolbox to be able to care for themselves.

Meet Coach Ruth

Ruth is a Mental Health Skills Coach with over 20 years of experience in the field of Mental Health & Addiction Nursing.

With a passion for promoting mental wellbeing, Ruth has dedicated her career to supporting individuals and their families on their journey to optimal mental health.Her extensive background in Mental health & Addiction Nursing has equipped her with an insightful understanding of the intricacies of the human mind and the challenges individuals face in their pursuit of mental wellness.

Specialising in working with youth and their parents, whanau and caregivers Ruth’s warmth and approachability create a nurturing environment where clients feel safe to explore their experiences and embark on journeys of self-discovery. Her gentle demeanour and empathetic nature allow her to form authentic connections with her clients, fostering trust and openness in every interaction. Driven by a passion for youth mental health promotion, Ruth dedicates herself to empowering young individuals to navigate life’s challenges with resilience and grace. She believes that early intervention and education are key to fostering a generation of emotionally resilient and empowered youth.
