Otago’s Bachelor of Teaching is a three-year degree for those passionate about becoming teachers. You can choose from the following specialisations:

You’ll gain the skills and practical knowledge to shape and inspire young minds, while developing as an effective, inclusive, and responsible educator.
With at least 120 days of supported, real-world classroom experience, you’ll graduate feeling confident and ready to begin your teaching career.
Applications open 1 May and are encouraged by 31 July 2026. Applications close 30 November 2026. Restricted entry applies to the Bachelor of Teaching – you must apply online, attend an interview, and be offered a place in the programme.
