Scholarships:

• Applications for the AUT Knowledge That Works Scholarships are currently open and close on September 1st 2026.

• International Scholarship applications are expected to open later this month. Further information will be shared once confirmed.

Accommodation:

Application dates are still being finalised. In previous years, applications have typically opened in early August and closed in late September. We’ll let you know as soon as the confirmed dates are available.

Events:

• AUT LIVE is happening on Saturday 29th August. More details will be shared soon, but you can join the journey now. Register through the AUT LIVE link to stay updated on everything AUT LIVE related like the app, schedule, and how to plan your day: AUT LIVE. We’d love you to share this with your students and their whānau so they can make the most of this opportunity.

• The Aotearoa AI Hackathon Festival 2026 is a two-day innovation event being hosted at AUT South Campus from 7th – 8th August, bringing together students, whānau, and community members to explore how artificial intelligence can be used to address real-world challenges. Participants will work collaboratively to develop ideas and solutions, with no prior coding or AI experience required. The hackathon encourages rangatahi to engage with future-focused technologies while creating positive impact in their communities. More information can be found via the flyer attached to this email.

UniPrep:

Applications for UniPrep are now open. UniPrep is a perfect way to help students transition from high school into the university space. Students can apply online in the same way they would apply for an AUT programme. For more information please visit: UniPrep Programme – AUT

Programme Updates:

Duolingo English Test (DET):

AUT now accepts the Duolingo English Test (DET) as evidence of English language proficiency. Further information please visit: English Language Requirements – Entry Requirements – AUT

Bachelor of Education (Primary Teaching)

Applicants must demonstrate mathematics competency equivalent to NCEA Level 2 through a Teaching Council-approved mathematics assessment. If you want information, please visit: Bachelor of Education – Specialty Teaching – AUT

Health and Environmental Sciences (HES):

The Faculty of Health and Environmental Sciences has provided indicative places for 2027. Please note that all numbers below are indicative only and subject to change.

*Paramedicine will only have one intake in 2027
