Kind Foundation Volunteer Opportunities
Christchurch Programmes for the next school holidays- We need your help!
Kia ora koutou,
The Kind Foundation (previously YMCA) is seeking students interested in volunteering during the upcoming school holidays.
Our Holiday Programmes cater to children aged 5-11 years old in three different locations, Papa Hou in the City, Bishopdale Rec Centre, and Te Kāpehu Riccarton Primary. The programmes offer a variety of fun activities such as Antarctic Centre, Science Day and Clip and Climb.
Volunteers gain work experience, apply leaderships skills, meet other young people and have fun. We have supervisors onsite at all times to support the volunteers and children with any concerns. The role of a volunteer is to interact with the children, build relationships, engage in activities and support with the overseeing of the group. Offsite activities are on us, volunteers don’t need to pay for any activities or transport during the day.
Please note students must be 15+ years old to volunteer with us.
Volunteers will receive a free gym membership for the following term, which can be used at Elevate City and Bishopdale, as a thank you.
Interviews for the programme start in 2 weeks on Wednesday 29th October and another on Thursday 30th October. So please be prompt in submitting the application form, if they wish to have a volunteering opportunity over the school holidays. Once they submit the application form, you will receive further information regarding interviews, training etc.
Nga mihi,
Caitlin O’Shaughnessy
Child Recreation Coordinator
