Glenda’s Volunteer Role pics!
We know many of you are already volunteering – and don’t forget to check out the roles available on our website, www.volcan.org.nz. There’s always over 240 volunteer roles listed there! However, we know the challenges around school and extra curricular activities, so that’s why we like to list a few ‘one off’ type roles for you here.
Flyer Distributor
Organisation: Christchurch Envirohub
Dates: various before 10 August
Time: various
Palestine Solidarity Network, Toitu te tiriti, climate change groups, school strike for climate change and numerous environment groups have been working on a major combined rally on 10 August in central Christchurch. and is looking for volunteers to deliver 100,000 leaflets giving details of this rally across the city. There are also A1 and A4 posters to be distributed.

Street Appeal Collectors
Organisation: MS & Parkinsons
Dates: Friday 6 and Saturday 7 September

Culture Fest (Lincoln) Assistant
Organisation: Volunteering Canterbury
Date: Sunday 15 September
Time: various shifts (9.30 to 11.30; 11.30 to 1.30; 1.30 to 3.30pm)
You will be supporting Selwyn Outreach staff to promote volunteering and run activities.

Bunnings BBQ
Organisation: Youthline Central South Island
Date: Suday 29 September
Location: Bunnings Riccarton
Time: Two hours shifts available between 8am and 4pm
All training provided to get you cooking, serving and cash handling at this fundraiser to support the amazing work of Youthline!

Dementia Canterbury fundraises for two thirds of its operational costs. This is a big task, and one we could not do without the support of our community.

Bunnings BBQ
Organisation: Youthline Central South Island
Dates: Saturday 16 and Sunday 17 November
Time: Two hour shifts available between 10am and 6pm)
Location: Riccarton (Westfield Mall)
You will be the face of the collection site inside Westfield Mall sharing Youthline resources to interested individuals. You will be paired up with another volunteer – so if you would like to do this with a family or friend, that is ok! Open for all ages (under 14s bring will need to have a accompanying guardian).
