New Bachelor of Psychology @ VUW
Victoria University of Wellington has developed a new Bachelor of Psychology degree*
Aotearoa’s only Bachelor of Psychology
Drive meaningful change
Aotearoa needs psychologists who care about people and who are passionate about delivering better outcomes. By studying Psychology here in Wellington, you’ll learn the skills to be part of positive, transformative change for all New Zealanders.
Our Bachelor of Psychology is made up of a required major—Psychological Science—and a set of eight optional complementary majors, covering a range of areas across psychology. If you are interested in postgraduate study or becoming a registered psychologist, these optional majors offer clear pathways to help you achieve your goals. What’s more, our compulsory Psychological Science major aligns with pre-clinical requirements in Australia and the United Kingdom.

Here is a link to the slides shared by VUW at a special update about this last week. The degree was received very positively by all the Careers Advisors in attendance and the current VUW Psychology students who were part of the presentation were all extremely positive about their Psychology study at Victoria and think such a specialist undergraduate Psychology degree is a good idea.
Professor Juan Canales and Doctor Maree Hunt are leading the new degree and they are open to questions if you or your students have any: juan.j.canales@vuw.ac.nz, maree.hunt@vuw.ac.nz.
