Orchestra Day

What a fabulous day we had on Thursday 25 July!

Our Christchurch Girls’ High School | Te Kura o Hine Waiora and Christchurch Boys’ High School Orchestra were delighted to welcome students from Heaton, Cobham, Breens and Kirkwood Intermediates as well as Marian and St Bede’s to a day of performing as part of a massive combined orchestra of over 100.

We practised all school day in the PAC, had a pizza lunch and then presented a concert in the evening to parents and friends, demonstrating what we had achieved, which ranged from Code X (spy music), to an arrangement of the last movement of Dvorak’s New World Symphony. Everybody worked hard and we achieved a great deal in such a short time.

This was Loads of fun and it was a great chance to play together, meet new people and make new friends, this was a highly successful event, enjoyed by all.

My thanks to everybody who supported and participated in this event.
