Explore a rewarding, in-demand career in cancer care.

Radiation therapists play an important role in the planning and delivery of radiation treatment for people with cancer. Otago’s Bachelor of Radiation Therapy is a three-year degree from our Wellington campus and is the only programme of its kind in New Zealand.

Radiation therapists work in a fast-paced, high-tech environment. Throughout the programme, you’ll complete clinical placements at cancer centres around the country, gaining valuable real-world experience before you graduate.

Radiation Therapy at Otago will teach you about:

  • Human anatomy and medical imaging

  • Cell cancer biology

  • Patient care and communication

  • Radiation treatment planning and delivery

Radiation Therapy is a highly skilled health profession, and qualified radiation therapists are in demand both in New Zealand and internationally.

Interested in finding out more? Join our online Bachelor of Radiation Therapy info evening on Tuesday 21 July at 5–6pm. Learn more about the programme, hear from current students, and get your questions answered.

Register for the online info evening.

Applications for the Bachelor of Radiation Therapy open on 1 July and close on 13 August.
