Describe yourself in 3 words
Positive, resilient and passionate.
What extracurricular activities or clubs do you participate in at school, and what do you find most enjoyable about them?
Throughout my time at CGHS, I’ve been involved with a variety of activities, committees and clubs. This year I joined the SADD (Students Against Dangerous Driving) committee, where I’ve helped raise awareness about road safety and organise fundraising events. It’s been a rewarding experience and I’ve loved contributing to such an important cause. I have also participated in various service opportunities and other committees including the House Committee and The Young Farmers Committee. As well as being involved in committees I have also made the most of sporting opportunities. This year, the year 12 hostels put together a social netball team, being part of this team was so much fun, and winning our grade was definitely a highlight of the season! I also joined the CGHS cycling team, which introduced me to a whole new environment and helped me build connections across the school, this is a group that I will forever be grateful for.
Being a part of these extracurricular activities has given me so many incredible experiences, new friendships, and skills that I’m truly grateful for.
Can you describe some positive or memorable experiences you’ve had at CGHS.?
There have been many memorable moments at CGHS, a highlight from this year has been going to Temple Basin for the Year 12 Biology camp. This camp was part of an internal we were doing in class, and I feel like I gained so much knowledge on it, as well as making heaps of great memories with my friends.
Another standout experience I have had at CGHS is back in year 9 when I took part in the junior house production. The entire process, from rehearsals to the performance was filled with countless amounts of laughter and smiles, and is an experience I will never forget. I have been so lucky to be a part of many positive and memorable experiences throughout my time at CGHS which are unforgettable moments, I will cherish for the rest of my life.
What are your favourite subjects at school and why do you enjoy them?
My favourite subjects are Health and History. I love Health as I have always been interested on how different factors influence us to make the decisions we make, and I love that I can apply what I learn in class to my daily life. History has always been a subject I enjoy very much, as it is always interesting, every lesson reveals new perspectives and insights into the past, and every time I leave this class I feel as though I have learnt something new.
