UoA – Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Property increased rank score – 2027
Please see the update from our Faculty of Business below.
This update relates to prospective students considering the Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Property at the University of Auckland Business School, as well as the schools, advisers, and whānau supporting them.
The University of Auckland Business School | He Manga Tauhokohoko has experienced significant growth in first-year enrolments in 2026, with this trend expected to continue into 2027. This growth has created capacity pressures and prompted a review of entry settings.
At the same time, first-year retention data shows that students entering with stronger academic preparation are generally better equipped to succeed. These changes are intended to ensure students are set up for success and that the University can continue to deliver a high-quality student experience.

-
These scores represent guaranteed entry thresholds, not strict cut-offs.
-
Students who do not meet the guaranteed score are still encouraged to apply and may be considered if space allows.
-
No new subject prerequisites are being introduced.
-
Equity pathways, including UTAS, remain available.
-
Students who received and deferred a 2026 offer will be considered on a case-by-case basis to ensure they are not disadvantaged.
What this means for students and schools
-
Students should continue to be encouraged to work towards the new entry requirements and apply, even if they are below the guaranteed entry score.
-
Schools and advisers can reassure students that multiple pathways into these programmes remain.
