Volunteer with The Kind Foundation children’s school holiday programmes
Looking for volunteer or community service opportunities? Interested in potentially working with children? Need to gain some experience & skills for your CV?
Kia ora koutou,
The Kind Foundation (previously YMCA) is seeking students interested in volunteering during the upcoming school holidays.
Our Holiday Programmes cater to children aged 5-11 years old in three different locations, Papa Hou in the City, Bishopdale Rec Centre, and Te Kāpehu Riccarton Primary. The programmes offer a variety of fun activities such as Launch Pad, Science Day and Clip and Climb.
The dates of the Holiday Programmes are:
-
Week 1: Monday 30th June to Friday 4th July
-
Week 2: Monday 7th July to Friday 11th July
Volunteers gain work experience, apply leadership skills, meet other young people and have fun. We have supervisors onsite at all times to support the volunteers and children with any concerns. The role of a volunteer is to interact with the children, build relationships, engage in activities and support with the oversight of the group. Offsite activities are on us, volunteers don’t need to pay for any activities or transport during the day.
Please note students must be 15+ years old to volunteer with us.
Volunteers will receive a free gym membership, which can be used at Elevate City and Bishopdale, as a thank you.
It would be very much appreciated if the flyer and link to the form could be shared with your students. I am also available to come in and speak with a group of students during the school day or present in an assembly
