WFCD Career of the week: Joiner
WHAT IS A JOINER:
Joiners work on the interior of buildings to manufacture, install, repair and replace furnishings. These furnishings are assembled based on blueprints and diagrams. Safety structures may also need to be installed to ensure that furnishings will stand the test of time.
There are numerous Certificates that can create an avenue to Joinery. These include a Certificate in Construction Trade Skills at Level 3, a Certificate in Architectural Aluminium Joinery Level 4, a Certificate in Joinery Level 4, and a Certificate in Kitchen Joinery Level 4.
NCEA subjects you could take to help you become a Joiner are Maths, English and Visual Communication.
